Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client in Taunton, Massachusetts. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal teams and external vendors.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and execute weekly payment runs, ensuring all invoices are accurately matched and approved in compliance with company policies.
• Manage the processing of corporate credit card statements, domestic payments, and freight bills on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Perform reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, including accounts payable and accrued payables, on a monthly basis.
• Create and post monthly journal entries into the financial system, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Analyze and monitor billing data to ensure precise accounting at month-end close.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to resolve discrepancies and address outstanding invoice issues.
• Process year-end reports and accruals in alignment with established guidelines.
• Prepare and process various employee and sales tax payments via wire transfers as needed.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date vendor files for accounts payable.
• Assist management with interim and annual audits, as well as other assigned tasks.
Requirements • Proficiency in accounts payable processes, including invoice coding and payment runs.
• Experience with account reconciliations and journal entry preparation.
• Strong knowledge of financial systems, such as JD Edwards or similar platforms.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to effectively manage data entry and invoice processing with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning software is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills to address and resolve invoice and payment discrepancies.
• Strong organizational abilities to maintain accurate records and prioritize tasks.
