Description

We are looking for a skilled Cost Accountant to join our team in Leola, Pennsylvania. This position is ideal for someone with expertise in manufacturing and/or construction costing who can provide valuable financial analysis and insights to drive operational efficiency. The role involves managing cost accounting processes, supporting budget planning, and ensuring compliance with financial standards.

Seeking a Cost Accountant due to growth:

Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed cost analysis and track variances to provide accurate financial insights.

• Prepare comprehensive job cost reports for manufacturing and construction projects to evaluate profitability.

• Develop and implement cost control procedures tailored to industry-specific needs.

• Collaborate with teams to create budgets, forecasts, and financial plans that align with operational goals.

• Identify opportunities for cost savings and suggest process enhancements across departments.

• Allocate costs between projects, manufacturing processes, and overhead accounts in adherence to accounting standards.

• Analyze inventory costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead, to ensure accuracy.

• Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting by preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.

• Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies related to cost accounting practices.

• Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits as needed.

Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.

• At least 2 years of experience in cost accounting within manufacturing or construction industries.

• Strong proficiency in construction-specific costing methods, such as job costing.

• Advanced skills in Excel, including pivot tables and financial modeling.

• Familiarity with ERP systems such as Epicor, Oracle, or similar platforms.

• Excellent analytical and organizational abilities to handle complex financial data.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in cost analysis.

• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
