Description

We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial strategy and operations for an early-stage startup on a remote basis. In this long-term contract position, you will play a pivotal role in driving fundraising efforts, enhancing financial systems, and aligning financial planning with the company’s growth objectives. This is an excellent opportunity to shape the financial future of a dynamic organization. SaaS experience is highly prefered.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategies to secure Series B funding, including preparing financial models, pitch decks, and due diligence materials.

• Act as the financial representative in investor meetings, providing critical insights and managing relationships with venture capitalists and strategic investors.

• Design and maintain comprehensive financial models to project revenue, expenses, and cash flow under various growth scenarios.

• Collaborate with department leaders to establish budgets, key performance indicators, and operational benchmarks that align with company objectives.

• Oversee financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and optimizing internal processes and controls.

• Provide expertise in SaaS metrics, such as churn rates, gross margins, and other performance indicators, to inform strategic decision-making.

• Present detailed financial reports and updates to the Board of Directors and key stakeholders, offering actionable insights.

• Create and manage fund utilization plans to prioritize spending on hiring, research and development, and market expansion initiatives.

• Evaluate and refine existing financial systems to support scalability and operational efficiency.

• Offer strategic guidance to the executive team to drive informed, data-driven decisions.

Requirements • Proven experience in financial leadership roles within early-stage or funded startups.

• Strong expertise in SaaS business metrics, including churn, gross margins, and revenue forecasting.

• Demonstrated success in leading fundraising efforts, particularly Series B or later funding rounds.

• Advanced knowledge of financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.

• Familiarity with accounting principles and best practices in financial operations.

• Exceptional communication skills for presenting to stakeholders, including investors and board members.

• Ability to design and implement scalable financial systems and controls.

• Experience in creating and executing strategic fund allocation plans aligned with business objectives.
