Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Medical Billing and Front Desk Specialist to join our team in South Portland, Maine. The position is 3 days a week during regular business hours on site. This long-term contract position involves providing excellent front desk assistance, managing medical billing tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily office activities. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in medical billing systems, coding, and patient interaction to deliver a seamless experience for both patients and staff.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome patients and visitors with a friendly and attentive demeanor, ensuring a positive first impression.

• Oversee patient check-ins and check-outs, verifying that all required documentation is accurate and complete.

• Schedule and confirm appointments while maintaining an organized and up-to-date calendar.

• Handle medical billing tasks, including claim administration and insurance verification.

• Utilize coding systems such as ICD-10 and ICD-9 to ensure accurate billing and record-keeping.

• Maintain and manage medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant regulations.

• Keep the front desk area clean, organized, and conducive to a productive environment.

• Collaborate with medical staff to address patient needs and streamline communication.

• Provide support for EHR systems and assist with electronic medical record updates.

• Respond to billing inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.

Requirements • Proven experience in a medical office setting, particularly in billing and front desk roles.

• Proficiency in medical coding systems such as ICD-10 and ICD-9.

• Familiarity with medical records systems and EHR platforms like Allscripts.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in managing data and documentation.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Knowledge of billing functions and claim administration processes is highly desirable.
