Description We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Agent to join our team in Everett, Washington. This is a long-term contract position requiring a dedicated and detail-oriented individual with strong procurement expertise and a solid understanding of supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing purchasing activities and ensuring that procurement processes align with organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
• Manage procurement activities, including preparing purchase orders, negotiating prices, and approving payments to ensure seamless operations.
• Handle requests for proposals (RFPs) and bid packages to facilitate new account acquisition.
• Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other relevant data to determine cost-effective options.
• Monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with agreed-upon terms and obligations.
• Collaborate with suppliers to expedite options and address inquiries regarding order statuses, changes, or cancellations.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel functions such as pivot tables, XLookUps, sorting, and filtering to analyze procurement data.
• Oversee the procurement of various commodities, including machined parts, sheet metal, hardware, electrical components, and vacuum-formed parts.
• Conduct negotiations to optimize purchasing terms and drive cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
• Ensure adherence to organizational policies and practices throughout the procurement process.
• Provide guidance and influence within the work area by explaining facts, policies, and best practices. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• At least 7 years of experience in supply chain or procurement roles.
• Proven expertise in purchasing and procurement processes, preferably with ERP systems such as SAP R/3.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, XLookUps, and data filtering.
• Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to handle complex purchasing scenarios.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for dealing with challenging procurement tasks.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.
