    At C-2 Utility Contractors , as a Telecom Aerial Groundhand , you’ll support an Aerial Telecom Crew with the installation and maintenance of fiber/telecom cables and materials.

    What you’ll do as a Telecom Aerial Groundhand

     

    + Provide tools, parts, and materials to crew members as needed

    + Reposition or move bucket trucks, trailers, or equipment as directed

    + Ensure that door-tagging and resident notifications for construction activities are completed before starting work each day

    + Stock, clean, and maintain all company vehicles and equipment

    + Perform hand digging using shovels and mechanical tools

    + Direct/flag traffic flow in line with local DOT guidelines

    + Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/afterhours responsibilities as needed

    + Perform work in all weather conditions

    + Other duties as assigned

     

    What you’ll need

     

    + To be at least 18 years old

    + To be authorized to work in the United States for this company

    + Be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card

    + A valid standard Driver's License or Class A Commercial Driver's License (preferred)

    + Previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunications industry

    + Knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques

    + To be able to climb telephone poles and work in a bucket truck and work aloft and climb poles up to 40 feet

    + To be able to perform all duties in telecommunications construction (such as; pole transfers, maintenance builds, new build, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction)

    + To be able to work over-time; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or on-call

    + Be able to maintain a safe work environment

    + Be able to work in all weather conditions

    + Be able to travel when travel is required

     

    Physical abilities & exposures

     

    + Routinely : Lift/Carry 50 lbs

    + Occasionally: Lift/carry 75lbs
