Astellas is announcing a **Genitourinary** Area Business Lead opportunity in the **West** Area **.** Territories included are in the area of Michigan, North Central, Missouri Valley, North West, Pacific, South West, Texas, and the Gulf Coast.
Purpose & Scope:
In support of the Astellas Oncology portfolio, provide leadership necessary to achieve field attainment goals for Astellas' products and services in the US. Elevate Astellas Oncology through driving the product portfolio and account strategy across assigned geography, managing first line mangers, and maintaining effective communication, collaboration & relationships with key external and internal stakeholders.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
+ Demonstrate strategic and clear leadership through consistent communication and direction, and assume direct responsibility for achieving or exceeding field attainment goals within assigned geography for products across the Astellas Oncology portfolio
+ Lead business planning and execution, within assigned geography, including working with cross-functional field-based teams, field operations, marketing, data & analytics, ethics & compliance, HR, legal, and senior leadership.
+ Direct and align efforts related to the business strategic plan to ensure Astellas' long-term goals are achieved; including identifying account, customer, and portfolio synergies to optimize interactions and elevate the Astellas Oncology brand
+ Establish a positive reputation for Astellas Oncology throughout the assigned geography with key opinion leaders
+ Coach and mentor managers on achieving field attainment goals, people management and communication techniques. Accurately assess team's performance, identify, and maximize talents, provide growth and development opportunities, and appropriately allocate rewards/recognition
+ Monitor and understand sales trends and competitor activities within the assigned geography and nation
+ Recruit and retain top talent
+ Understand the oncology healthcare landscape, market dynamics, trends, competitors, regulations, oncology distribution models and managed health care environment, while teaching direct reports to elevate their knowledge
+ Proactively take ownership of situations, provides ethical leadership, and demonstrate Astellas' values by adhering to corporate policies and required sales practice regulations in a compliant and ethical manner; Ensure each sales manager and sales representative within assigned geography understands, accepts, and adheres to Astellas policies and procedures
+ Ensure high level of collaboration with alliance partners to maximize joint efforts
+ Attend and actively participate in sales meetings, training programs and medical conventions as requested
Quantitative Dimensions:
+ Demonstrated track record of exceeding sales objectives and appropriately managing budget
+ Proven ability to maintain consistency across regions and territories when evaluating performance
+ Demonstrated track record of maximizing & effectively managing all promotional resources at area level
**Organizational Context** :
+ Reports to Sales Vice President, Oncology
+ Second-Line Manager position
+ Leads an Area of 4-8 Regional Sales Managers and 30-70 Sales Representatives
+ Requires close collaboration with multiple internal stakeholders, including Field Operations, Sales Training; Marketing; Business Analytics, Key Account Management; Ethics & Compliance
Qualifications:
Required
+ Bachelor's degree with minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical sales including at least 7 years overall pharmaceutical sales management/leadership experience
+ Previous sales, marketing and or other management roles of increasing responsibility
+ Proven record of high performance, consistent results, and development of sales managers
+ Demonstrated skill in strategic visioning, leadership agility and business acumen
+ Broad based, cross-functional experience i.e., marketing, finance, planning, and operations, learning and development, etc.
+ Proven ability to work effectively in matrix teams
+ Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
+ Track record of driving implementation of complex projects
+ Demonstrated problem solving ability
+ Ability to travel 75% of the time
+ Valid Driver's License in good standing
Preferred
+ 10+ Years of oncology pharmaceutical management experience
+ Experience with geographic area customer base
+ Previous experience leading first line managers in a product launch
+ MBA or advanced degree in business field
+ Experience with an alliance partner
+ Robust understanding of the oncology reimbursement landscape
+ Oncology therapeutic area knowledge /experience

+ Compensation: $193,200 – 276,000 (NOTE: Final salary could be more or less, commensurate with experience)
