    Summit Electric Supply is seeking an outstanding, strategic executive to provide the leadership necessary to build on Summit’s years of success and be the driving force behind the next chapter of company growth, as a separate operating company under the Sonepar banner. As one of the largest electrical distributors in the United States, Summit is in a strong financial position with robust operational infrastructure and a strong organization of approximately 700 Associates.  Summit expects to continue to strengthen our position in existing markets and to expand domestically. The Regional Vice President will work closely with our VP – Sales & Marketing and Executive Team to make this vision a reality by providing engaged leadership over Summit’s Region.

    Job Duties:

    + Responsible for achieving topline Revenue, EBIT, and other identified Business Objectives

    + Strategic Leadership: Work closely with the Executive Team to develop and implement Regional strategies.

    + Financial Oversight: Manage a regional budget, ensuring financial targets and KPIs are met.

    + Team Management: Develop and manage a high performing sales and operational leadership team, providing strong strategic guidance and thoughtful development for team members.  Prepare for future growth through robust participation in Summit’s succession planning process.

    + Operational Excellence: Oversee regional operations to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with company policies.

    + Customer and Supplier Relations: Build and maintain relationships with key customers, Suppliers, and Manufacturers Representatives.

    + Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to senior executives on regional performance and strategic initiatives.

    + Participate in company long-term strategy and planning with the Summit Executive Team.  Create strategic roadmap for the Region, establishing a long term plan that maximizes profitable market share growth

    + Establish customer strategies and participate in top-level negotiations with key customers.  Work with Service Center leadership to determine and deliver sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analyses.

    + Responsible for analyzing and controlling expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements (including headcount).

    + Manage Weekly commodities board for the Region with efforts to support focused vendors while maintaining competitive cost.

    + Active Engagement to leverage bulk branch buys with customer requirements to seek lowest cost.

    + Ensure SPA and CSP are managed at the branch level and there is active training with the local sales teams to maximize gross margin rate.

    + Approval of new stock request over $X. with preference to focused vendors.

    Essential Skills and Experience:

    + Minimum 15 years of experience with commercial and/or industrial products, preferably in both manufacturing and distribution.

    + Minimum of 10 years of experience in distribution of electrical products.

    + Minimum of 10 years in leadership positions, managing supervisors/managers in diverse markets and functions.

    + Quantifiable success in formulating sales strategies and driving sales performance.

    + Strong experience in analysis and strategic planning.

    + Direct operational experience with supply chain and/or distribution.

    + Executive presence demonstrated through the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions of key decision makers.

    + Ability to effectively operate across diverse audiences and resolve complex business issues, ability to be forceful, but diplomatic and bring about win-win outcomes.

    + Deep financial acumen with demonstrated skills in managing operational budgets and P&Ls in a significant enterprise.  History of superior returns on investment within a significant organization.

    + Clear track record of systematically recruiting and developing superior talent in organizations.

    + Proven record of driving cross functional initiatives established through credibility as a leader.

    + Experience working with family owned or closely held company.

    + Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time to field locations, vendor and customer offices, and industry events.

    Beneficial Skills and Experience:

    + Strong preference for successful, high-level leadership experience at an electrical distributor.

    + Deep relationships with decision-makers of current and potential Summit customers and suppliers.

    + Familiarity and a solid reputation for integrity and results with Summit’s customers, competitors, and suppliers.

    + Bachelor’s degree, preferably in industrial distribution, supply chain and logistics, business or engineering.  Master’s degree preferred but not required.

    + Highly effective user of ERP systems (preferably SAP), and BI tools.
