    We are seeking a **Director, Government Relations** to develop and manage a comprehensive state and local government affairs campaign for Honeywell and Advanced Materials.

     

    This position will be based in Washington, DC at Honeywell’s Global Government Relations headquarters and operate on a hybrid work schedule. This role will include frequent travel (up to 50%) within supporting region and other key State Capitals, as needed.

     

    The Director of State and Local Government Relations Affairs will drive adoption of legislation that support Honeywell’s products.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Manage multi-state legislative campaign

    + Coordinate a cross-functional team spanning legal, commercial, communications, regulatory, R&D, product stewardship, and sales functions as well as outside public affairs consultants

    + Represent the Company before various administrative, regulatory, legislative, and executive levels of state government, and in some instances, local jurisdictions.

    + Identify, analyze, and report to the Company business, legislative and regulatory issues that could potentially impact the business and recommend and manage a course of action Establish and maintain effective relationships with regulators, elected officials, civil servants, and other key stakeholders

    + Develop and collaborate on the production of high-quality written recommendations, briefings, publications, presentations, and other collateral that communicate complex messages clearly and effectively to audiences, with a focus on government stakeholders

    + Coordinate strategy with consultants and trade association representatives to ensure active engagement on the areas of interest to Honeywell and that all are aligned in support of our business strategies

    + Organize and drive communication with Honeywell senior leadership, including meetings, briefings, and campaign reviews

    + Participate, serve, and assume leadership positions on industry-related associations, steering committees, and networking organizations to protect & promote the Company interests.

     

    The annual base salary range for this position is $206K - $257.5K. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations

     

    In October 2024 Honeywell announced the spin-off of our Advanced Materials business to become a stand-alone publicly traded company, independent of Honeywell. Our intention is that this role, dedicated to the Advanced Materials business, will be a part of this future transaction when the separation occurs.

     

    This position is intended to convey to the new, independent company, to be named Solstice Advanced Materials when the separation occurs. This is expected to occur in late 2025 or early 2026.

    YOU MUST-HAVE:

    + Bachelor’s and/or Advanced degree, PoliticalScience, Public Policy, Law, Chemistry or Engineering preferred orapplicable comparable experience

    + 10+ years of State Government Relationsexperience

    + Demonstrated familiarity with the energy andchemical regulatory policy landscape, including major legislative ®ulatory trends and ability to grasp technical details quickly

    + Experience operating in a highly matrixed,fast-paced environment
