    About the Team

     

    The Corporate Finance & Strategy team equips DoorDash to be a best-in-class Finance & Strategy organization by providing deep insights into our business to inform key decisions and play a leadership role in communicating clear data and guidance to internal and external stakeholders. The team serves as the “unequivocal source of truth” for the business. Among several things, this team owns strategic and financial planning, reporting, long-range planning, company-wide weekly business reviews, Board and earnings preparations, and headcount and total compensation planning. This team also serves as the finance business partner to several global senior executives and partners with teams across the company to improve the profitability, scalability and defensibility of our business model.

    About the Role

    This role works closely with senior leaders in both Finance and the Business to orchestrate the planning and resource allocation aligned with the company’s priorities. We’re excited to have two Director, Finance & Strategy roles open on our team, each with a few unique differences.     You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

    + Own DoorDash all-in compensation planning and costs and financial planning cycles, as well as capital allocation decisions

    + Own finance and strategic business partnership and budget management for several global senior executives

    + Work closely with CFO and key senior leaders to ensure that the appropriate and effective financial infrastructure is in place to accommodate the company’s current ongoing business requirements as well as future needs

    + Formulate and drive strategic and long-term comprehensive business plans in collaboration with key business executive stakeholdersWith the Accounting organization, help develop financial management mechanisms that minimize financial riskLead, develop, and coach a top-notch team

    We’re excited about you because…

    + You have 10+ years of strategic finance or Corporate FP&A experience at a high-growth technology start-up or well-established company. Having prior client service experience such as Investment Banking or Management Consulting is a plus.

    + Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance; MBA and/or CFA preferred

    + Experience developing and managing high potential teams and culture

    + Extensive experience in communicating and partnering with senior executives and/or strong Corporate Finance experience leading financial planning cycles

    + Experience working with Accounting and an understanding of GAAP and corporate finance principles

    + A growth-oriented leader that can act as a steward of financial resources and an enablers of entrepreneurial thinking

    + Demonstrated capacity to leverage data, insights, and influence in the highest level of organizational strategies and decisions

    + Aptitude of finding creative solutions that results in win-win business outcomes for multiple parties

    + Ability to work across functions and departments; an organizer of working teams to champion initiatives and drive results

    + Advanced modeling skills (e.g. Excel w/ complex functions, Google Sheets); ability to build complex financial data into digestible models and analyses, used across the organization to make strategic recommendations and investment decisions

    Compensation

     

    The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.

     

    In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

    See below for paid time off details:

    + For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.

    + For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).

     

    The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographical market up to our highest geographical market within the United States.

     

    $193,800 — $285,000 USD
