    EquipmentShare is Hiring a Director of Trench Safety

     

    EquipmentShare is searching for a Director of Trench Safety for our location in Houston, TX to support our team as it continues to grow. This position will be hybrid.

     

    The Director of Trench Safety will lead and oversee all aspects of the trench safety division, including strategy, sales, operations, safety compliance, and P&L management. This role is responsible for developing scalable systems and leading high-performing teams to deliver best-in-class rental services while ensuring adherence to all regulatory safety standards.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    + Develop and implement strategic plans to grow the trench safety division, including new market entry, service offerings, and customer acquisition

    + Oversee all trench safety operations across multiple branches or regions, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and profitability

    + Lead, mentor, and develop branch managers, sales teams, and field personnel in trench safety best practices

    + Manage and analyze the regional P&L for the Trench Safety division, identifying areas for improvement, driving profitability, and ensuring financial targets are met.

    + Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational excellence and profitability

    + Ensure full compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulatory standards relating to trench safety and excavation support systems

    + Partner with the safety department to develop training programs and enforce safety protocols

    + Build and maintain relationships with key customers, vendors, and industry stakeholders

    + Provide input into pricing strategy, capital equipment planning, and resource allocation

    + Stay current with industry trends, regulatory updates, and competitive landscape

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    + Deep understanding of trench safety products, OSHA regulations, and shoring best practices

    + Ability to lead teams, develop talent, and drive results in a fast-paced, multi-location environment

    + Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and customer service orientation

    + Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills

    Education and Experience:

    + Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred

    + At least 8 years of progressive experience in trench safety, shoring, or related construction/rental equipment industries

    + At least 3 years of senior leadership or regional management experience, ideally with P&L responsibility

    Physical Requirements:

    + Able to lift up to 50lbs

    + Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like to work safely at elevated heights

    + Spend extended periods of time sitting, standing and walking throughout the workday

    + Perform repetitive motions such as gripping, twisting, and turning when operating tools or performing technical tasks
