Job Title: Senior Process Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Process Engineer to join our New Product Development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing technology and a passion for innovation. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing new motor products from concept to production.
Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop manufacturing processes for new platform motor designs and customer-specific designs.
+ Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses to determine the best manufacturing methods.
+ Design and implement production workflows, equipment, and tooling.
+ Optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
+ Investigate and propose potential areas for automation during the new product development process as well as with newly launched programs.
+ Develop process documentation, including work instructions and standard operating procedures.
+ Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process-related issues.
+ Design and implement tooling to facilitate building motor components, prioritizing safety, quality, and productivity.
+ Stay current with industry trends and advancements in manufacturing technology.
+ Provide technical support and training to production staff.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably with new product development experience.
+ Proficiency in CAD software.
+ Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, equipment, and tooling design.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ BS of Engineering.
+ CAD software design experience (e.g., AutoCAD, Solidworks, Inventor, or Pro-Engineer).
+ Strong electrical, mechanical, and controls background is required to troubleshoot systems, machinery, and test equipment.
+ 2 years of experience with electric motors and/or rotating machinery.
+ Self-starter.
Work Environment
The work environment involves a 24/5 manufacturing operation, which may require more than a 40-hour workweek. The facility houses 600 employees across four plants. The testing team, consisting of 5-15 employees including designers, engineers, and technicians, collaborates cross-functionally with all teams. The culture promotes a sense of family, with a strong emphasis on team environment and growth opportunities. The average tenure is 19.5 years, reflecting a stable and supportive workplace. The organization offers numerous tools for testing, and there is significant funding available for projects.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $52.88/hr.
