Job Description

Join a small dermatology clinic in Bollingbrook, where you will be part of a close-knit team dedicated to providing excellent patient care. With a focus on general dermatology, this role offers a great opportunity for those interested in breaking into the dermatology field.

Responsibilities

+ Assist the dermatologist in providing care for patients.

+ Perform general medical assisting duties and procedures.

+ Handle phlebotomy tasks and ensure accurate lab work.

+ Deliver exceptional customer service to patients.

+ Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and dermatological procedures.

+ Manage patient flow efficiently, supporting the doctor in a high-volume setting.

Essential Skills

+ 2+ years of medical assisting experience.

+ Proficiency in phlebotomy.

+ Strong understanding of medical terminology.

+ Excellent customer service skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Dermatology experience is a plus but not required.

+ Certification in medical assisting is preferred but not mandatory.

+ Experience in a high-volume environment is beneficial.

Work Environment

The clinic is a smaller facility, comprising 2 medical assistants, 1 doctor, and 1 receptionist. The team handles approximately 6 patients per hour with a 2:1 ratio. The doctor maintains a fast-paced and busy schedule, conducting about 5-6 surgeries per week, including skin checks, biopsies, and treatment for acne, warts, and rashes. The clinic operates with a general dermatology focus, with minimal cosmetic procedures. Working hours are Monday and Thursday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Tuesday and Friday from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM, and a half-day on Wednesday. The first Saturday of every month requires work from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM, with the preceding Friday off.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
