Job Description
A food manufacturing company is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to work on the 3rd shift from 10pm to 6am, starting on Sunday nights. This role is vital in ensuring that products are produced according to established guidelines, specifications, and regulatory compliance standards. The successful candidate will be part of the quality team, collaborating with Safety, Logistics, Maintenance, and Production Departments through quality auditing, testing, and monitoring.
Responsibilities
+ Perform daily laboratory testing, equipment calibration, and troubleshooting.
+ Conduct data entry and issue certificates of analysis.
+ Monitor production lines and take proactive actions to assist the Production Department.
+ Maintain and monitor rework and substandard products.
+ Prepare samples and conduct micro testing; perform environmental monitoring and sample preparation.
+ Coordinate samples, testing, results, and follow up with corrective actions if needed.
+ Provide auditing support, including weight control, CCP verification, monthly internal audits, calibration certification, GMPs.
+ Accompany auditors during facility audits occasionally.
+ Perform analyses and special projects as required.
+ Support HSE/HR departments with assigned projects.
+ Assist with customer requests, visits, and regular audits as needed.
+ Inspect, test, and release raw materials.
+ Coordinate investigations, corrective actions, and root cause analyses.
+ Conduct visual inspections after sanitation, coordinate line cleaning, and update production managers on outcomes.
Essential Skills
+ Quality assurance and quality control expertise.
+ Experience as a Laboratory Technician or similar roles.
+ Knowledge of FDA, GMP, Food Science, pH testing, titration, Biology, Chemistry, Laboratory, Microbiology, Wet chemistry.
+ Proficient in Microsoft applications such as Excel and Outlook.
+ Must possess a Life Science degree or have 2+ years working in a quality position within food and beverage manufacturing.
+ 1 year of food manufacturing experience required.

+ Willingness to learn and adapt to changes.
+ A Food Science degree is a plus.
Work Environment
The candidate will work on-site in a brand new facility built within the past 10 years, featuring 3 labs (2 Dry Labs & 1 Wet Lab). Initially, most of the time will be spent in the dry lab until fully trained. Safety is paramount, and the facility is regulated by FDA/USDA, ensuring a spotless environment. The company runs lean with a well-organized work setting and operates production 24/7. Training will occur on the first shift from 7am to 3pm until fully trained. Flexibility is required due to the production schedule, including some weekend work for 3 hours on a volunteer basis, focusing on swabs as a team effort. The warehouse is located 20 minutes away, and occasional travel may be necessary for inspections and sample pulling. The role is fast-paced, quality-focused, and adaptable to daily changes. Daily meetings occur at 8am.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.99/hr.
