Job Title: Director of Electric Distribution Engineering
Job Description
This role involves leading the electric distribution engineering department with a focus on engineering design, field engineering, mapping, drafting, and the utility’s Geographic Information System (GIS). The position requires directing the planning, design, and installation of electric transmission and distribution facilities and managing various aspects of project execution.
Responsibilities
+ Direct the planning, design, and installation of electric transmission and distribution facilities.
+ Submit capital improvement budget proposals by forecasting and prioritizing system needs, establishing project scope, and estimating project costs and schedules.
+ Oversee the utility’s mapping, drafting, and GIS personnel to ensure accurate system maps, drawings, and other records.
+ Ensure timely processing of work orders, electric service applications, timesheets, and other documents through direction of the department’s clerical staff.
+ Assist in the planning, design, construction, and management of communication systems for the company’s operational, administrative, and control needs.
+ Manage the implementation of policies, completion of reports and studies, and the execution of other required duties with regard to Federal, State, and Southwest Power Pool Transmission System Regulatory matters.
+ Manage the development of policies, procedures, and supporting data related to demonstrating compliance with applicable North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards and requirements.
+ Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for applicable standards during compliance audits.

Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD.
+ Experience in distribution design and power distribution.
+ Strong experience in engineering, specifically electrical engineering.
+ Familiarity with GIS systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience as a Distribution Engineer.
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
