We are looking for a Sales Associate to join our Chemetall team in New Providence, NJ.

BASF/Chemetall (https://www.chemetall.com/) , is the Surface Treatment global business unit of BASF’s Coatings division,operatingunder the Chemetall brand, and a leading supplier of applied surface treatments worldwide.

This hybrid role includes working in New Providence, NJ, gaining hands-on experience in the lab and participating in projects to build a foundation of product and process knowledge. Once assigned to a sales territory, the Sales Associate will contact established and prospective customers to sell Chemetall’s full portfolio of products. The Sales Associate will provide complete sales and service, ensuring safe, quality product performance while maximizing profitability within their assigned territory.

As a Sales Associate (ECT-Chemetall), you create chemistry by...

+ Understanding the business activities of accounts in the territory and applying knowledge of the customer’s internal operations to tailor sales presentations and proposals to the account’s specific needs.

+ Managing territory profitability by reviewing customer contribution margins, providing margin improvement through product selection and optimal pricing.

+ Planning a weekly itinerary of calls to allocate time effectively and ensure proper territory coverage by industry, geography, and account potential.

+ Working closely with customers, focusing on building strong business relationships using CSP to become a trusted advisor.

+ Providing information on new products, methods, techniques, and other general information such as safety and disposal.

If you...

+ Have a BS Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, or Business (preferred).

+ Are a self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills.

+ Possess time management and organizational skills.

+ Have strong business acumen.

+ Can maintain and improve relationships with existing clients through regular follow-ups and visits.
