    Job Title: Electrical Test Technician - 3rd Shift

    Job Description

    As an Electrical Test Technician on the 3rd shift, you will develop and maintain expert-level transformer testing skills. This role involves performing and documenting a variety of tests on transformers, including control box pre-tests, fan motor tests, LTC oil filter pre-tests, and many others. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and ensuring the reliability of power transformers.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct various testing and troubleshooting of power transformers, including control box testing, fan motor tests, oil filter tests, and resistance tests.

    + Perform CT tests under load, heat runs, sound tests, impulse tests, and voltage distribution tests.

    + Troubleshoot electronics and perform Hipot tests and other related electrical tests.

    + Calculate test results and data to determine the acceptability of the tests.

    + Move transformers and assemblies from auxiliary floor to test floor.

    + Generate reports for corrective actions and NCR and DM reports.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in electrical testing and understanding of transformers.

    + Familiarity with test equipment and schematic reading.

    + Strong electrical experience with a good understanding of electrical theory and mathematics.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Associates or alternate 2-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Electro-magnetic fields.

    + Comfortable working at heights as many transformers are positioned atop buildings.

    + Bachelor's degree graduates in Electrical Engineering may advance to Test Engineer roles.

    Work Environment

    This position operates on a 3rd shift, with hours from 11 pm to 7 am starting on Sunday. The role includes a $1.25 shift premium. You will work in a large, extremely clean, and organized facility with brand-new additions. The work environment is team-oriented due to the size of components, and employees often work in groups. The dress code is casual with jeans and t-shirts allowed, but safety glasses and steel-toed shoes are required.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $68806.00 - $68806.00/yr.
