    Overview

     

    Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the Resident Assistant will provide support to Hope House residents and create a hospitable and safe environment in the shelter. The hours for this position are: Part time (16 hours/week): Saturday and Sunday from 6:45 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.

    Responsibilities

    + Provide support to shelter residents.

    + Monitor the activities of the residents within the shelter environment. Complete daily Shift log checklist during your shift. Review and record the Communication Log each shift.

    + Conduct security wanding upon resident admission, as well as random wand checks.

    + Monitor the physical facility by making rounds every half hour and conducting periodic inspections to ensure rooms are clean, facility is secure and that clients are abiding by house rules.

    + Make referrals to alternative emergency shelter providers when Program beds are unavailable.

    + Maintain basic record keeping responsibilities. This includes performing electronic intakes in the database and completing accurate time sheets in a timely manner in ADP

    + Check your individual work email daily.

    + Attend and participate in monthly Staff meetings/Resident meetings.

    + Attend relevant In-Service training/conferences, as requested.

    + Complete all mandatory training (in-person and online) in a timely manner.

    + Clean linens, maintain cleanliness of the facility (inside and perimeter).

    + Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    + Minimum of High School Diploma/GED will be reviewed. Associated Degree preferred.

    + Crisis intervention, interpersonal and communication skills needed.

    + Ability to work in a continually changing and challenging environment.

    + Flexibility in personal work schedule. Must be available for relief hours as needed.

    + Basic computer skills required for completion of intakes, time sheets, email, daily logs.
