Job Description
This role is with a commercial general contractor that utilizes subcontractors to complete the majority of onsite work. The foreman will serve as the company's representative on the jobsite, ensuring tasks are completed correctly by subcontractors. The position involves performing carpentry duties, site cleanup, and enforcing safety standards. Knowledge of small tools and the ability to construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures using hand and power tools is essential.
Responsibilities
+ Monitor construction sites and communicate with the superintendent if subcontractors are not completing tasks correctly.
+ Perform carpentry duties such as constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard.
+ Conduct site cleanup and enforce safety standards.
+ Install rough carpentry, finish carpentry, doors, door frames, door hardware, and concrete forming.
+ Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using various tools.
+ Adhere to established safety rules and maintain a safe and clean environment.
+ Verify the trueness of structures using tools like plumb bob and level.
+ Shape or cut materials to specified measurements using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
+ Study specifications from blueprints and building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and material requirements.
+ Assemble and fasten materials to create frameworks or props using hand tools and fasteners.
+ Build or repair cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, and other wooden fixtures using woodworking machines and tools.
+ Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
+ Repair or replace damaged or defective parts using hand tools.
+ Install structures and fixtures such as windows, frames, flooring, and trim using hand and power tools.
+ Finish surfaces of woodwork or wallboard with paint and paneling.
+ Inspect ceiling, floor tiles, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork to detect broken or damaged structures.
+ Form and chute for pouring concrete and cover subfloors with building paper.
+ Lay hardwood, parquet, and wood-strip-block floors by nailing or cementing them.
+ Fill cracks and defects in plasterboard using patching plaster, trowel, and sanding tool.
+ Apply shock-absorbing, sound-deadening, and decorative paneling to ceilings and walls.
Essential Skills
+ Knowledge of construction sites and carpentry.
+ Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and building plans.
+ Experience in rough and finish carpentry.
+ Understanding of safety standards and regulations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Concrete finishing is a plus.
+ Mechanically inclined.
+ Experience in commercial construction and framing.
+ Ability to use tape measures and other measuring tools.

Work Environment
The position involves working on projects valued at $20-$50 million, with a minimum of 40 hours per week and occasional overtime up to 50 hours. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with rare Saturday work. The foreman will be working on projects such as a big addition to a school and various renovations, including a zoo exhibit and road work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
