    Job Title: Food Sanitation Worker

    Job Description

    As a Food Sanitation Worker, you will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety. You will maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including floors, walls, and ceilings, and assist with cleaning dining areas, patient trays, and other food service areas as needed. Adherence to established cleaning schedules and protocols is crucial to comply with hospital and food safety standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for disposing of trash and recyclables in accordance with hospital policies and collaborating with other food service staff to ensure seamless operations and maintain high standards of cleanliness.

    Responsibilities

    + Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.

    + Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including floors, walls, and ceilings.

    + Assist with cleaning and sanitizing dining areas, patient trays, and other food service areas.

    + Follow established cleaning schedules and protocols to ensure compliance with hospital and food safety standards.

    + Dispose of trash and recyclables in accordance with hospital policies.

    + Collaborate with other food service staff to ensure seamless operations and maintain high standards of cleanliness.

    Essential Skills

    + Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).

    + Basic knowledge of food safety principles and cleaning protocols.

    + Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.

    + Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

    + Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

    Work Environment

     

    The position is located in the Nutritional Services department of a hospital. The shift is from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, and schedules are released every two weeks. Weekend availability is required, with no exceptions.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, District of Columbia.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
