    Job Title: Tool Crib Attendant

    Job Description

    As a Tool Crib Attendant, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining tools and equipment to support operational efficiency. You will ensure safety and compliance by overseeing tool calibration, conducting safety inspections, and managing inventory.

    Responsibilities

    + Issue and retrieve hand tools, power tools, fall arrest gear, HAZMAT materials, and other consumables to authorized personnel.

    + Maintain and update accurate logs and tracking systems for tools, HAZMAT, and equipment checkouts and returns.

    + Oversee the calibration process for precision tools, ensuring scheduled check-outs are completed and documented.

    + Perform daily, pre-operational inspections on forklifts, aerial lifts, and other heavy equipment, ensuring they meet all safety and operational criteria.

    + Identify and report any deficiencies, malfunctions, or safety hazards immediately to maintain operational readiness and prevent accidents.

    + Ensure that all required PPE, including gloves, safety gear, and supplies, are adequately stocked and positioned for immediate use.

    + Monitor the condition, expiration dates, and proper storage of HAZMAT items and fall protection gear, replacing or removing items as necessary.

    + Participate in routine inventory counts and coordinate with logistics to reorder supplies, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

    + Maintain a clean, organized, and secure tool room to prevent loss or damage.

    + Support safety and compliance efforts by ensuring all items meet regulatory and company standards.

    + Communicate with technicians and supervisors to ensure operational needs are met efficiently and effectively.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Inventory management and control

    + Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment

    + Organizational skills and attention to detail

    + Proven ability to work within structured systems and follow procedures

    + Basic computer skills for maintaining inventory records and performing administrative tasks

    Work Environment

     

    This position is located at Camp Pendleton at ACU5's Shipyard. You will work in a shop/tool room environment with exposure to heavy machinery and occasional HAZMAT materials. Appropriate PPE is provided to ensure safety.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of National City, California.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
