    Job Title: General Production Worker

    Job Description

    Perform general labor duties such as sweeping, shoveling, and general clean-up of the warehouse. Operate a forklift throughout the yard and warehouse. Assist the warehouse associate with weighing, sorting, and moving materials, and handle general duties involving the physical handling of materials and supplies. Inspect incoming scrap and/or cars, advising customers of accepted and non-accepted scrap, and taking deductions as needed. Be willing to cross-train in other positions and assist other employees as needed. Other duties as assigned by your manager.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform sweeping, shoveling, and general clean-up of the warehouse.

    + Operate a forklift throughout the yard and warehouse.

    + Assist with weighing, sorting, and moving materials.

    + Inspect incoming scrap and/or cars and advise customers of accepted and non-accepted scrap.

    + Willing to cross-train in other positions and assist other employees as needed.

    + Perform other duties as assigned by your manager.

    Essential Skills

    + General labor experience

    + General production skills

    + Machine operation experience

    + Mechanically inclined

    + Forklift operation

    + Packaging experience

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop outdoor environment

    + Minimum of 1-year previous general labor experience in heavy manufacturing environments and warehouses

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours per day

    + Ability to adapt to frequent changes of priority

    + Ability to complete job tasks safely and effectively without constant supervision

    + Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency

    + Ability to work in extreme heat and be exposed to weather

    + Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

    + Ability to operate a forklift is a plus

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a production environment with shifts from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m., requiring availability for six 12-hour shifts.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $30264.00 - $70000.00/yr.
