Job Title: General Operator

Job Description

Join us as a General Operator where your role evolves with the seasons, providing dynamic support across various departments. This position requires adaptability and a willingness to engage in diverse tasks, ensuring smooth operations throughout the year.

Responsibilities

+ Receive and process trucks hauling crop from the field for weighing and unloading during September-October.

+ Perform a wide range of harvest activities, including combine cleaning.

+ Supply the Conditioning department with a constant supply of seed and apply appropriate treatment.

+ Label, tag, bag, and palletize seed from November to March.

+ Enter inventory information into the computer.

+ Stage seed for shipment in the warehouse.

+ Retag in-house seed and re-bag backhaul returned seed from April to August.

+ Inspect and wash pro boxes to ensure cleanliness.

Essential Skills

+ Knowledge of production agriculture and production plant operations.

+ Ability to safely perform duties in a timely manner while maintaining seed quality.

+ Capability to work independently or as part of a team.

+ Flexibility to adjust to changing conditions and anticipate needs.

+ Skill in making independent decisions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with production, forklift, packaging, assembly, material handling, loading, packing, sit-down forklift, RF scanner, pallet jack.

+ Forklift experience preferred.

+ Reliable transportation to the site.

+ Ability to work long hours and rotational shifts, including overtime.

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.

+ Physical ability to lift, push, pull up to 60 pounds, work indoors and outdoors, and walk on uneven surfaces.

Work Environment

Work in a flexible environment with rotating schedules to accommodate seasonal demands. Expect shifts ranging from 8 to 12 hours, with flexibility to move between day and night shifts. Dress code and safety standards are strictly adhered to, ensuring a professional and secure workplace.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of New Madrid, Missouri.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.50/hr.
