Job Title: Electrical Helper Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Helper Technician to join our team for multiple commercial projects. Your primary role will involve installing and repairing commercial electrical systems following electrical code manuals. You will also be responsible for reading technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and using hand tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment. A high standard of integrity and professionalism is expected, along with a willingness to learn, work overtime when required, and provide reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

+ Install and repair commercial electrical systems according to electrical code manuals.

+ Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

+ Utilize hand tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment efficiently.

+ Maintain a high standard of integrity and professionalism.

+ Show willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks.

+ Work overtime when required and provide reliable transportation.

Essential Skills

+ 1+ years of Electrical Experience or 1.5+ years of Construction Experience.

+ Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment.

+ Ability to follow electrical code manuals.

+ Capability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

+ Basic math and problem-solving skills.

+ Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

+ Must have basic hand tools and pouch.

+ 3rd or 4th year electrical apprentice.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ High school diploma or GED.

+ Ability to read a tape measurer to 1/16th of an inch and perform basic math operations.

+ Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

+ Ability to climb ladders, use lifts, and work at heights.

+ Physical capability to bend, twist, kneel, and climb ladders for 8 hours a day.

+ Capacity to lift 35-50 lbs consistently throughout the day.

+ Ability to handle criticism appropriately.

Work Environment

This is a fully on-site position located in Ankeny, Iowa, within the DSM Metro. Typical work hours are Monday to Friday, starting at 6:30 am until the job is done, usually lasting 8-9 hours. We rarely work on Saturdays. Punctuality is highly valued, and tardiness or no call no show will not be tolerated. The dress code requires jeans without holes, professional t-shirts, and work boots. All necessary PPE will be provided, but the candidate must have basic hand tools and a pouch.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ankeny, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $25.00/hr.
