    For 23 years, Willis Mechanical has been a trusted and preferred commercial HVAC mechanical service and construction provider in and around Atlanta. Our mission and vision include taking care of and making life easier for our clients by providing outstanding customer service through highly skilled technicians. We provide ongoing service and new construction/renovations, through high-quality pipefitting and welding, with a focus on intricate, high-purity stainless steel tubing and orbital welding for pharmaceutical manufacturers and similar industries. Our small but dynamic construction department is seeking a skilled and motivated leader to manage all aspects of our pipefitting projects.

    Job Summary:

    The Project Manager will oversee the entire pipefitting division, managing all aspects of small to large-scale pipefitting projects from inception to closeout. This role requires a hands-on leader with expertise in pipefitting, project management, and client relations. The Manager will supervise field workers (pipefitters and welders), coordinate with general contractors, engineers, customers, and subcontractors, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Project Management: Oversee all pipefitting projects, including planning, scheduling, and execution, and ensure projects meet deadlines, budgets, and client specifications.

    + Estimating & Bidding: Prepare accurate cost estimates and bids for pipefitting projects, including labor, materials, and equipment. Bid jobs, win jobs, and keep them profitable.

    + Purchasing: Source and procure materials, tools, and equipment necessary for project completion, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.

    + Labor Management: Supervise, schedule, and manage a team of five field workers (pipefitters and welders), ensuring productivity, safety, and quality workmanship.

    + Client & Stakeholder Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors, engineers, customers, and subcontractors. Address inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain strong professional relationships.

    + Technical Expertise: Provide oversight and guidance on intricate pipefitting tasks, including high-purity stainless steel tubing and orbital welding, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

    + Documentation & Compliance: Manage all project documentation, including Requests for Information (RFIs), change orders, billings, and closeout packages. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and client specifications.

    + Financial Oversight: Handle project billing, track expenses, and manage change orders to maintain profitability.

    + Department Leadership: Oversee the overall operations of the construction department, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment that provides for our clients and provides growth for the department. This individual is responsible for the financial success of this department.

    + Customer Closeout: Coordinate final inspections, deliver closeout documentation, and ensure customer satisfaction at project completion.

    Qualifications:

    + Experience: Minimum of [5-7] years of experience in pipefitting project management, with at least [2-3] years in a supervisory or project management role. Experience in high-purity stainless steel tubing and orbital welding is highly preferred.

    + Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of pipefitting techniques, materials, welding processes (mig, tig, stick, orbital welding). Understand complex HVAC, process piping, and manufacturing systems as well as industry standards for complex environments, like pharmaceutical manufacturing.

    + Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.

    + Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a small team of skilled tradespeople and administrative staff, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.

    + Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, contractors, engineers, and team members.

    + Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex documentation, including RFIs, change orders, and closeout packages.

    + Software Proficiency: Familiarity with project management software, estimating tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with [specific software, e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or Procore] is a plus.

    + Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred. Relevant trade certifications (e.g., welding, pipefitting, manufacturer’s certifications) are a plus.

    + Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license required. OSHA certification or other relevant safety certifications preferred.

    + Physical Requirements: Ability to visit job sites, perform inspections, work at heights and in cramped spaces, and occasionally lift up to [50 lbs].
