    What you will do:

    In this role you will work as part of an Agile Scrum development team to produce professional software applications to provide enhanced functionality to Navy vessels and systems. Additionally, you may work alongside our Machine Learning Engineers to implement new Machine Learning enhancements to legacy software applications. Applicants are not required to have experience in Machine Learning, however experience working in an Agile Software Development environment and experience with web development is preferred.

    Responsibilities

    + Work as part of a software development team that writes full software applications that provide functionality for our customers. Applications are usually tailored to a specific RF related activity or system.

    + Provide quick turn tailoring of current software to adapt to customer needs in a dynamic development environment.

    + Have a basic understanding of software engineering and to write code using C#.

    + Expected to demonstrate a willingness to learn in developing code, unit tests, and debugging software in a collaborative Agile scrum development team.

    + Write software documentation and properly comment code.

    + Perform testing and performance profiling as needed.

    + Participate in project meetings including Agile/Scrum grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and daily stand-ups.

    + Collaborate within an Agile scrum software development process with software engineers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders.

    + Work with a team to conduct software engineering best practices, such as code reviews, unit testing, and static software analysis.

    + Implement new software development process metrics as they are required by the government customer.

    + Bring value or provide enhancements to previously developed tools and applications including resource efficiency improvements, large dataset handling, simple Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) functions, parallelization, and integration with newer more advanced software applications.

    + Participate in planning and design of software development activities and system level software designs.

    + Adapt to cutting edge development techniques to improve V2X software products.

    Qualifications

    + Education: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

    + Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

    + Experience:

    + One (1) or more years of experience in software design, engineering, or programming.

    + One (1) year experience in the area of software development/software engineering.

    + One (1) year experience implementing engineering criteria and developing software and tools to operate in real-world environments.

    + One (1) year experience conducting software testing at multiple levels (unit, integration, system), performing analyses to predict and quantify software constraints, and defining/designing corrective measures.

    + One (1) year experience with general purpose high-level programming languages such as C#, Java, or Python.

    + One (1) year experience with common source control tools such as Git, industry common IDE’s such as Visual Studio, IntelliJ, or Eclipse, and application lifecycle management tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.

    + One (1) year experience developing in C#, Java, or Python.

    + One (1) year experience working as part of an Agile Scrum development team.

    + One (1) year experience developing in both Windows and Linux operating systems.

    + Experience and comfort with analyzing information, solving complex problems, and learning new tools and programming languages.

    + Desired Experience:

    + Experience with ASD STIGs and writing STIG compliant software applications.

    + Experience with Kubernetes

    + Clearance Requirements:

    + Active SECRET Security Clearance.
