THE POSITION
The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (DOC) is dedicated to enhancing public safety through the housing and rehabilitation of incarcerated individuals in facilities throughout the Commonwealth. The State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Coal Township is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented professional to coordinate and direct security and treatment programs within our facility's housing units. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Corrections Unit Manager for the DOC, you will have the opportunity to utilize your skill set while working for an agency that strives to support inmates by providing quality educational opportunities and treatment programs. Within this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring unit programs at SCI Coal Township, in addition to collaborating with leadership to develop and revise unit mission statements, operational goals, objectives, and procedures.
Excellent leadership skills are vital, as you will be supervising a multi-disciplinary staff and implementing the overall unit program. This professional provides training, performance appraisals, and professional development for all personnel assigned to the unit. You will also oversee the management of unit resources, provide input regarding budget development, monitor overall unit security, and serve as an accessible and responsive professional to address concerns of both staff and inmates. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment, 40 hours/week.
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
+ This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
+ Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
+ Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $58,774.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Three years of professional experience in a correctional institution/facility in correctional security, treatment, quasi-judicial hearings or counseling ; or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes two years of professional experience in a correctional institution/facility in correctional security, treatment, quasi-judicial hearings or counseling.

+ Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
