The Department of Neurobiology/HD is seeking a **_Research Technologist_** to perform cell and animal experiments following standard protocols or with specific instruction in the Laboratory of Translational Neurobiology (Director, Wenzhen Duan, M.D., Ph.D) in the Department of Psychiatry/Division of Neurobiology.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
+ Manage mouse colonies, including routine care, breeding, injections, behavioral testing, and tissue harvesting and preparation.
+ Perform small animal brain structural MRI scans and data analysis.
+ Perform molecular and biochemical assays on rodent and human tissues.
+ Responsible for daily lab operations, including ordering and managing laboratory supplies.
+ Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
+ Use basic understanding of theory behind experiments and applies basic analytical skills to implement assigned projects, and to identify and troubleshoot situations needing special attention.
+ Collects, compiles and analyzes data using basic word processing and spreadsheet (Microsoft Office) computer programs.
+ Monitors inventory levels, orders materials and supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures, counts orders upon receipt.
+ Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and committees for laboratory safety and animal care.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field.
+ Some related post-undergraduate work experience preferred.
+ Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond HS Diploma/Graduation Equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Some related post-undergraduate work in cell culture.

Starting Salary Range: $15.70 - $26.25 HRLY ($38,000 targeted; Commensurate w/exp.)
