    The Licenses & Permits Coordinator, reporting to Academy’s Compliance Manager, will be responsible for managing all required operational licenses and permits for all stores, distribution centers, and corporate offices. This role will also involve being fully responsible for investigating license and registration requirements, processes, policies and procedures, as well as recommending alternative courses of action and effective resolutions, to ensure compliance with applicable local and state codes and statutes.

    Job Description:

    Education:

    + High School Diploma or equivalent required

    + Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business Administration or related field of study required

    Work Experiences:

    + 1+ years of corporate administrative or related licenses and permits experience

    Skills:

    + Excellent time management skills, ability to effectively manage a large volume of work

    + Ability to remain organized, pay strict attention to detail, and meet critical deadlines within a high volume, fast-paced environment

    + Self-motivated, with the ability to meet and exceed position requirements under minimal direction and supervision

    + Ability to anticipate deadlines and next steps, and act on them proactively

    + Ability to operate professionally, effectively and ethically as an individual contributor and member of a team

    + Analytical, with strong problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skills

    + Able to provide superior customer service, demonstrating sound logic, reasoning and business judgment

    + Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication with the ability to interface effectively with individuals at various levels, both internal and external

    + Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications as needed

    + Experience with License HQ, Serengeti, and/or iManage a plus

    Responsibilities:

    + Responsible for sole support and coordination of operational licenses and permits for retail, distribution center, and corporate office locations, including but not limited to general business licenses, various product licenses, special event permits, temporary overstock containers, store construction trailers, and marketing banners

    + Fully manage and investigate license and registration requirements, processes, policies and procedures to identify business needs and recommend effective resolutions that ensure compliance with applicable local and state codes and statutes

    + Facilitate bond requests, applications, renewals and releases associated with various locations or events

    + Manage invoices and renewals; maintain records of payments and coordinate with agencies to resolve pricing and payment issues

    + Monitor license and permit matters and maintain status and tracking of same in License HQ and iManage.

    + Cultivate relationships with outside vendor and government agencies

    + Partner with various internal teams to streamline processes involving special events, store requests, and building or remodel timelines, as required

    + Work with minimal supervision, with latitude for the use of initiative, discretion and independent judgment is required

    + Develop thorough understanding of Academy policies, procedures, and safety rules

    + Duties may change; team member may be required to perform other duties as assigned

    Physical Requirements & Attendance:

    + Regular attendance required

    + Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties

    + Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior
