Position Description
Serco is seeking a Principal Military Trainer – Work Cell Controller to join our team supporting the Army’s Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. In this position, you will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in a specific Warfighting Function (WfF), contributing to the execution of simulation-driven command post exercises that train U.S. Army Brigades, Divisions, and Corps.
In this role, you will:
+ Train military personnel on Warfighter Simulation (WARSIM) tools and WfF-specific simulation procedures.
+ Ensure exercise realism through role-playing, adjudication, and conflict resolution.
+ Lead work cell operations that translate unit operations into simulation inputs and scripting requirements.
+ Train cell augmentees on reporting procedures and simulation support for subordinate elements.
+ Maintain doctrinal fidelity in simulation of WfF units/assets and ensure alignment with unit SOPs.
+ Support the After-Action Review (AAR) process through event tracking and use of the Workstation Reporting System (WRS).
+ Participate in exercise design, scenario development, and Simulation Control Plan creation.
+ Conduct site surveys and contribute to planning conferences and exercise preparation.
+ Support the development of simulation Rules and Workarounds documentation.
+ Assist with training and certification efforts in WfF-specific areas.
+ Maintain the WARSIM WfF database and perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of experience, or Master’s degree with 4 years of experience.
+ Completion of Military Education Level (MEL) 4 or equivalent (Warrant Officer or SGM).
+ Graduate of a related Advanced Course.
+ Proficient in current Army WfF doctrine and synchronization procedures.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access).
+ Familiarity with Army and Joint doctrine.
+ Ability to work onsite at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
+ Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
+ Active DoD Secret clearance.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
+ A strong understanding of simulation systems, WfF synchronization, and exercise design.
+ Experience supporting large-scale military training exercises.
+ The ability to lead, train, and support diverse teams during complex operations.
Additional desired experience and skills:
+ Graduate of a WfF branch advanced course.
+ Prior service as a Battalion or Brigade Operations Officer or Executive Officer.
+ Graduate degree.
+ Brigade or higher staff officer experience.
