Position Description
Serco is seeking a Principal Military Trainer – Sustainment Work Cell Instructor/Controller (WIC) to support the U.S. Army’s Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. In this role, you will serve as a Sustainment Warfighting Function (WfF) subject matter expert, supporting tactical and operational sustainment and other WfFs as needed in a leadership role within a contractor team.
In this role, you will:
+ Train military personnel on Warfighter Simulation (WARSIM) tools and Sustainment-specific processes and procedures.
+ Enforce exercise realism through role-playing, adjudication, and conflict resolution.
+ Supervise the work cell mission by translating unit plans into simulation inputs and scripting requirements.
+ Guide and support work cell augmentees in reporting and simulation activities for subordinate elements.
+ Ensure WfF units/assets are accurately simulated in accordance with doctrine and unit SOPs.
+ Support the After-Action Review (AAR) process by recording significant events via the Workstation Reporting System (WRS).
+ Maintain awareness of evolving Army and Joint doctrine relevant to Sustainment operations.
+ Collaborate with MCTP Observer/Coach/Trainers (O/C/T) to ensure alignment on force structure and organizational understanding.
Additional responsibilities include:
+ Conduct exercise design and scenario development.
+ Participate in site surveys and planning conferences.
+ Serve as SME for the development of simulation Rules and Workarounds documentation.
+ Assist in certification training for the Sustainment WfF.
+ Maintain WARSIM WfF databases.
+ Fulfill administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience, or Master’s degree with 3 years of experience.
+ Completion of Military Education Level (MEL) 4 or equivalent (Warrant Officer or SGM).
+ Graduate of a related Advanced Course.
+ Proficiency in current Army Sustainment doctrine and synchronization procedures.
+ Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access).
+ Familiarity with Army and Joint doctrine.
+ Ability to work on-site at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
+ Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
+ Active DoD Secret clearance.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
+ A strong understanding of simulation systems, sustainment synchronization, and exercise execution.
+ Experience leading training teams during military exercises.
+ The ability to translate doctrinal knowledge into immersive, realistic training experiences.
Additional desired experience and skills:
+ Graduate of the Sustainment Advanced Course.
+ Service as a Battalion or Brigade Operations Officer or Executive Officer.
+ Graduate degree.
+ Brigade or higher-level staff officer experience.
