The Sr. Expert, Technical Controller is responsible for a variety of high-level accounting activities across the organization. This role requires deep expertise in financial planning and analysis, internal controls, risk management, and stakeholder communication. The individual will play a critical role in driving financial integrity, program performance, and business compliance within a matrixed and fast-paced environment.
# General Responsibilities
+ Acts as the expert advisor on critical financial/accounting decisions and strategic planning for the business
+ Maintains the integrity of the general ledger, including the preparation of accounting records, addressing reconciliation requirements, and preparing reporting statements and schedules, ensuring meticulous accuracy and efficiency
+ Review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports, providing strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership
+ Advise on the development, modification, and execution of company policies and financial procedures, driving process improvements and efficiency.
+ Understand regulatory requirements and work closely with Tax, Legal and other functional teams to ensure compliance and optimize financial strategies.
+ Collaborate with auditors to ensure compliance with all regulations and effective management of audit processes
+ Lead the development, modification and execution of company accounting policies, ensuring the business is compliant and meeting industry standards
+ Administer and control financial operations
+ Oversees accounting integration activities for post-acquisition closing, which includes but is not limited to; process mapping, accounting policy harmonization, and systems integration
+ Provides tax, insurance and other necessary reports or documentation that is required by governmental regulations
+ Oversees and presents financial forecasts and identifies key insights to advise on strategic decisions
# Experience / Qualifications
+ CPA required
+ A university degree in Accounting required
+ Extensive experience in financial accounting and analysis, internal controls, risk management, and stakeholder communication
+ Proven track record of maintaining the integrity of financial records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
+ Strong expertise in systems and internal controls
+ Experience dealing with auditors and reviewing external reporting
+ Ability to forecast cash flow and provide strategic financial insights
+ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization
