    Position Description

    Serco is seeking a Joint Force Analyst Trainer to support the Joint Staff J7, Joint Training, Deployable Training Division (DTD) in Suffolk, VA. In this role, you will provide expert-level observation, training, and feedback to Joint Force Commanders and their staffs during joint and multi-national training exercises. Your expertise will guide operational and strategic-level readiness by supporting real-world operational planning, crisis response, and lessons-learned development.

    In this role, you will:

    + Serve as a member of Deployable Training Teams (DTTs), observing and mentoring Combatant Commanders and Joint Task Force leaders during exercises and operations.

    + Analyze joint training challenges and contribute to cross-functional insights and best practices.

    + Conduct research into strategic guidance, national-level documents, operational environments, and interagency/coalition strategies.

    + Deliver subject matter expertise in one or more functional areas such as Sustainment, C2, Intelligence, Fires and Targeting, Space, Cyberspace, IAMD, or Operational Law.

    + Develop Commander’s Facilitated After-Action Reviews (FAAR), Executive Summary Reports, Combined Functional Reports, and internal reviews.

    + Support the Joint Lessons Learned Information System (JLLIS) and contribute to the development of joint doctrine and warfighting concepts.

    + Mentor new Observer Trainers and facilitate seminars for senior leader programs at National Defense University.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications

    + Master’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of professional and/or military leadership experience.

    + Demonstrated expertise in at least one key functional area: Plans and Assessment, Sustainment, Intelligence, Command and Control, Current Operations, Operational Law, Interagency Coordination, Fires, Information Ops, Cyber, Space, IAMD, or Force Protection.

    + Knowledge of staff planning and decision cycle support requirements at the operational level.

    + Willingness to travel worldwide, including to hazardous duty locations.

    + Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

    + Must be able to work on-site in Suffolk, VA.

    + Travel up to 25% required.

    To be successful in this role, you will have:

    + Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.

    + Experience delivering senior-level operational insights and training guidance.

    + Ability to synthesize operational data into actionable recommendations and after-action reporting.

    Additional desired experience and skills:

    + Experience with Combatant Command, Joint Task Force, or senior-level service staffs.

    + Knowledge of the Joint Planning Process (JPP) and advanced warfighting concepts.

    + Completion of Joint Forces Staff College or service equivalent.

    + Experience writing operational orders and presenting lessons learned in formal formats.

    + Background in planning and executing operational-level exercises and seminars.
