RUCKUS Networks a CommScope BU is seeking an experienced Director of UX to lead the design strategy for our next-generation networking solutions — spanning Wi-Fi, switching, cloud-based management, and AI/ML-driven insights.
This role is ideal for a hands-on design leader who thrives on simplifying highly technical domains into powerful, intuitive user experiences.
**How You’ll help us connect the world** :
You are responsible for shaping user-centered design strategy while ensuring excellence in day-to-day delivery. You’ll partner closely with product, engineering, and customers to deliver seamless, intuitive experiences across our suite of network software products.
You’ll oversee a team of talented designers and researchers, driving UX across a portfolio of enterprise networking products used by IT teams around the world. From managing wired and wireless networks to leveraging AI for performance optimization, your work will shape how customers deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot complex environments with ease.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Define and lead the end-to-end UX vision across Wi-Fi, switching, and cloud-managed networking platforms.
+ Partner with product and engineering to ensure design solutions support IT workflows, performance visibility, and network automation.
+ Translate complex networking and cloud technologies into elegant, user-centered designs that support administrators, engineers, and MSPs.
+ Integrate AI/ML insights into the UX in ways that enhance decision-making, anomaly detection, and proactive management.
+ Lead user research and usability studies to identify friction points and opportunities across customer journeys.
+ Scale UX operations — from design systems to process improvements — across cross-functional teams and distributed environments.
+ Mentor and grow a high-performing UX team, fostering technical fluency and customer empathy.
+ Champion accessibility, consistency, and best-in-class design practices throughout the product lifecycle.
+ Use metrics and customer feedback to demonstrate UX impact and drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
+ 10+ years in UX/UI design, with at least 3–5 years leading UX in enterprise software or networking environments.
+ Strong portfolio demonstrating successful design leadership in Wi-Fi, LAN switching, or cloud-managed infrastructure.
+ Expertise in user research, information architecture, interaction design, and system-level UX thinking.
+ Proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, or similar design/prototyping tools.
+ Deep understanding of networking concepts (e.g., VLANs, QoS, roaming, cloud controllers), or ability to quickly learn and translate them into user-friendly interfaces.
+ Experience designing workflows for IT admins, network engineers, or operations teams.
+ Skilled at collaborating across product, engineering, marketing, and support teams.
+ Strong communicator, storyteller, and advocate for the end-user.
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HCI, Design, Computer Science, or a related field.

+ Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
+ Familiarity with UX analytics tools (e.g., Pendo) and metrics-driven design.
+ Understanding or Course work in AI applications .

Why CommScope?
Our salary ranges consider a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to benchmarking by independent third-party consultants, skill sets, years of experience, training, education, geography, and other business needs. Depending on experience, the range can be higher for candidates with exceptional experience and a demonstrated history of successful performance. This position's expected total compensation (base salary and commission range) is $135,000.00 -$190,000.00
The candidate will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, life and accidental death insurance, a 401(k) plan, and participation in the Company’s Incentive Plan. Candidates starting with the Company will be eligible for eleven paid holidays in a full calendar year, two weeks of paid vacation (prorated based on start date), as well as other leave options.
