    Job Summary

    Facilitate all processes related to maintenance of Commercial Pricing and Forecasting team data and internal and external reporting needs. The analyst will work closely with leaders on the team, as well as IT and Finance.

     

    An understanding of the health insurance industry, a working knowledge of industry code sets (e.g., diagnoses, procedures, paces of service, etc.), proficiency in relational databases, data warehouses, SAS or related query language, Excel, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.

    + Maintain team data sets

    + run monthly process to update membership, claims, and premium data

    + check this data against other sources and investigate variances

    + Regulatory Reporting

    + run queries of data warehouses to support regulatory and other reporting

    + independently check these results

    + present preliminary reports to team leaders

    + Support other reporting and ad hoc analyses

     

    QUALIFICATIONS – what you need to perform the job

    EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

    + College degree required

    EXPERIENCE** (minimum years required) **:

    + 3+ year’s experience

    SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    + Demonstrated experience in analytic work

    + Proficiency in the use of personal computers, relational databases, statistical packages, spreadsheet and/or database applications

    + Well-developed verbal and written skills

    + Able to facilitate planning and review sessions

    + Developing presentation skills, presents mostly within department and to project teams

    + Able to operate in a matrix environment

    + Able to implement Actuarial department standards and processes.

    + Must be able to work cooperatively as a team member.Regular interface with various levels of staff and management is required as well.

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS** (include special requirements, e.g., lifting, travel) **:

     

    + Must be able to work under normal office conditions and work from home as required.

    + Work may require simultaneous use of a telephone/headset and PC/keyboard and sitting for extended durations.

    + May be required to work additional hours beyond standard work schedule.
