    Job Summary

    Michigan Medicine's Kellogg Eye Center is dedicated to improving lives around the world by enhancing vision. Located in culturally rich southeastern Michigan, the department has over 100 clinical and research faculty members and more than 500 employees in 10 different locations surrounding beautiful Ann Arbor locations.     The University of Michigan School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, seeks outstanding candidates for a tenure-track faculty position. Successful candidates are expected to have already established an independent research program in Visual Sciences with evidence of sustained funding. Applicants focused on all areas of vision research will be evaluated with particular consideration given to those studying neuronal development and function; regeneration/ restoration related to vision, neuro-inflammation related to blinding eye diseases, visual perception, or systems biology related to the retinal neurovascular unit. This is an outstanding opportunity, including the potential for a named Professorship for appropriate candidates.

     

    Candidates applying for the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor are welcome to apply for what will be a primary appointment in the Department of Ophthalmology.

     

    The position is for the instructional tenure track and is full-time. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and academic credentials.     Background Screening

     

    Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.Employment will require both a criminal background check and an institutional reference check regarding any misconduct.
