Overview



Summary

Handles phone calls in a prompt and courteous manner. Assists staff, patients, providers, and general public in providing information, directions, and routes calls to appropriate departments. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

+ Serve as the central call center for all NEA Baptist clinics by answering, transferring and taking messages for incoming and internal calls.

+ Assist patients, visitors and callers by providing directions as needed. Looks up information and numbers.

+ Sort letters and type envelopes. Run lists for reminder cards.

+ Maintains sign-in book and visitor badges.

+ Assist patients with finding the appropriate provider and location that best suits their needs.

+ Page overhead codes/incidences and alerts ambulance statuses.

+ Contacts departments and maintains call schedules and provider schedules.

+ Maintains updated call lists.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements, Preferences and Experience

Education

Minimum: HS Diploma or GED equivalent

Experience

Preferred: 6 - 12 months preferred relevant experience in a clinic, medical office, or hospital setting with understanding of basic medical terminology.
