At Houston Methodist, the Sr. Process Optimization position is responsible for providing senior level support for a hospital wide decision support framework that will provide the organization with the appropriate tools, evidence and knowledge to optimize effective evidence-based decision-making. Pursues and implements innovative approaches to data collection, analysis, interpretation and presentation in order to support planning and decision-making at all levels of the organization. Leads organizational efforts for business process improvement, change management, systems redesign and integration, and solution development. Mentors more junior team members as appropriate.
PEOPLE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Supports team by maintaining and improving the quality and integrity of data collected for decision-making and partners across the organization to ensure consistent reporting of information.
+ Communicates effectively with end users, vendors, peers and management on system related topics and issues.
+ Serves as role model, mentors and supports Process Optimization Specialist as needed.
SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Analyzes and makes recommendations for improved data quality.
+ Partners with stakeholders to identify areas of inefficiency/duplications as well as areas of efficiency
QUALITY/SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Leads or participates in process improvement projects and committees charged with improving patient care delivery systems and processes by offering analytic skills and knowledge of available data.
+ Assists team in the development, implementation, and maintenance of automated and integrated methodologies for data collection, retrieval presentation, analysis and interpretation.
+ Ensures all reported data and information are accurate, consistent, relevant and timely.
FINANCE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Identify financial and statistical information needed to support decision makers.
GROWTH/INNOVATION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Participates in the selection process and implementation of new solutions that improve integration/optimization of processes/systems
+ Supports operational teams by providing advice in operational and strategic technology decisions

EDUCATION
+ Bachelor's degree required
WORK EXPERIENCE
+ Five years experience working with decision support systems
+ Healthcare industry experience preferred

+ Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles
+ Strong data analysis and problem resolution skills
+ Knowledge of time & attendance and scheduling practices and the ability to analyze the associated data to identify improvement opportunities
+ Extensive knowledge of current technologies, data warehousing and statistics.
+ Strong ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety and multiplicity of tasks and ensure timely and accurate completion.
+ Knowledge of Heath Care Industry (Clinical, Finance/Accounting, Research) preferred
+ Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative
+ Excellent analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills
+ Strong communication , teamwork and interpersonal skills. And ability to communicate throughout all levels of the organization
