    Redfield Community Memorial Hospital and Clinic is seeking a qualified individual to join our team!

    Position Highlights

    Job Summary:

    The Homemaker provides care for elderly, convalescent or disabled persons in patient’s home or facilities. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served by Community Memorial Home Health

    Essential Job Functions:

    HH Aides are a member of the interdisciplinary team and must report changes in the patient’s condition to an RN or other skilled professional, and must complete appropriate records in compliance with the HHA’s policies and procedures. Provides chore services such as housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, and meal preparation, according to the plan of care. Assists client with activities of daily living which may include bathing, grooming, and dressing. Assists client with social activities. Has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate patient care protocol relating to physical and psychosocial needs of patients in the home or facility setting. Completes timely and documentation as required by program. Reports changes in patient status timely to supervisor. Uses equipment and supplies effectively and efficiently. Adheres to environment, safety and infection policies and procedures.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

     

    The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

     

    The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

     

    The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.

     

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

    Required Communication/Mathematical/Reasoning Skills:

    Must possess the required level of skills and abilities to read, write, speak, and apply mathematical concepts and sound reasoning to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.

     

    Must be able to perform basic operations on a personal computer within the Windows Operating System.

     

    This position requires problem solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to multi-task.

    Licenses/Certificates:

    This position requires a valid driver’s license and that the employee is insurable by the Avera Health automobile liability insurance carrier.

     

    Healthcare Provider CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) certification or Heartsaver CPR certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

    Work Environment:

    May be exposed to communicable diseases when working in a health care environment.

     

    While performing the duties of the job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.

     

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

     

    Occasionally exposed to unpleasant environmental conditions if working in a patient care area or patient’s home.

    General Hours of Work:

    Monday-Friday
