Job Summary
The Executive Vice President, Clinical Services (EVP, Clinical Services) serves as a key member of the executive leadership team and is responsible for overseeing, directing, and optimizing clinical services across the organization. This role provides strategic leadership to ensure high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care delivery. The EVP collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to enhance clinical outcomes, operational performance, regulatory compliance, and financial results while aligning clinical services with the organization's overall purpose and strategic goals.
Essential Functions
+ Provides executive oversight of key clinical services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and best practices in healthcare delivery.
+ Develops and executes strategic plans to enhance clinical quality, patient safety, operational efficiency, and service delivery across the organization.
+ Collaborates with senior leadership, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to promote interdisciplinary care and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
+ Establishes, monitors, and reports clinical performance metrics, analyzing trends and identifying opportunities for improvement in care quality, patient satisfaction, and operational processes.
+ Leads clinical integration and standardization initiatives, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all facilities and service lines.
+ Functions as a key leader in resource allocation for clinical services, including staffing, technology, and equipment, to ensure efficient and effective care delivery.
+ Drives the implementation of innovative care models, leveraging technology and data analytics to improve care delivery and patient engagement.
+ Ensures compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, as well as accreditation standards, including The Joint Commission, Conditions of Participation (COP), and CMS guidelines.
+ Partners with the financial leadership team to manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure cost-effective clinical service operations.
+ Provides executive leadership during critical situations, including public health emergencies, disaster response, and other urgent operational needs.
+ Advises the CEO and board of directors on clinical services strategy, performance, and emerging trends in healthcare delivery.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
+ Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Business Administration, or related field required or
+ Doctor of Medicine (MD) required or
+ Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required
+ 10+ years of clinical practice experience required
+ 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in clinical services, including at least 2 years in an executive or senior leadership role required
+ Proven track record of leading large-scale clinical programs and operational improvement initiatives in a multi-site healthcare delivery system or complex organization required
+ Experience in driving clinical integration, standardization, and care innovation required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Extensive knowledge of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and regulatory compliance requirements.
+ Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve clinical performance and operational efficiency.
+ Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and optimizing resource utilization.
+ Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to build and sustain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
+ Expertise in quality improvement methodologies, data analytics, and the use of technology to enhance care delivery.
+ Ability to lead during periods of change, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex organizational challenges.
Licenses and Certifications
+ Active clinical license (if applicable) required
+ Certification in Lean Six Sigma, quality improvement, or related methodologies preferred
