    About the Job:

    + The Physical Therapist functions under the general supervision of the Rehab Manager and/or Director of Rehabilitation Services.

    + The Physical Therapist assumes responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and provides physical therapy evaluations, modalities, and treatments in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, maintaining the highest degree of quality patient care.

    + The Physical Therapist accurately assesses patients’ needs; identifies and initiates appropriate physical therapy interventions; provides patient and family teaching; and works cooperatively with other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional physical therapy practice and interdisciplinary teamwork.

    + The Physical Therapist also assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of those patients being treated by Physical Therapist Assistants and may be assigned to orient staff and students.

    Education / License / Certification:

    + Master's or Doctorate degree in physical therapy required

    + Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the State of Tennessee required

    + Current Basic Life Support/CPR Certification required

    Experience / Skills:

    + One year of experience in the care of patients in an acute hospital, outpatient, or acute rehab setting is preferred

    + Good general health and stress coping ability is required

    + Must possess full mobility and the ability to participate in vigorous activity
