    Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

     

    As a Sales Planner, you will be primarily responsible for the development of strategic linear sales proposals that meet both the advertiser and network’s needs. You will also be responsible for managing day-to-day partner relationships and account management work.

    Linear Responsibilities:

    + Lead in the creation of proposals for incoming RFPs by creating media plans to meet advertiser and category objectives

    + Build media plans and schedule units based on inventory avails

    + Prepare and revise Upfront and Scatter sales plans that maximize the use of inventory while fulfilling agency/client requirements

    + Collaborate and brainstorm with the team in the creation of proactive and strategic proposals

    + Complete additional projects as directed by Strategic Planning and Ad Sales Finance Management

    + Develop strong understanding of our products and solutions for advertisers

    + Establish relationships with agency and advertiser partners

    + Respond to Sales requests about inventory, ad products, creative specifications, and research

    + Liaison with partners to ensure that all contractual obligations are met

    + Coordinate with CFS group to establish credit clearance process and non-media billing procedures when applicable

    + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

    + 1+ years related experience in online or television media sales or buying

    Eligibility Requirements

    + Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice

    + Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet research

    + Strong knowledge of media math and audience metrics

    + Nights and weekends will be required surrounding NBC Sports Big Event Tentpoles including, but not limited to: Olympics, World Cup, Super Bowl, Sunday Night Football, Golf Majors

     

    Desired Characteristics

     

    + Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage projects both independently and collaboratively

    + Ambitious and highly motivated

    + Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills

    + Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

    + Digital media planning knowledge is appreciated but not required or part of the role

    + This is a Linear-focused role; candidates should have a clear understanding that responsibilities will not include digital media planning or execution

    + Pharmaceutical brand experience or familiarity with Pharma industry guidelines is a plus

    + Ad serving software and tracking knowledge is a plus

    Additional Requirements:

    Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

     

    This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
