Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Join the Portfolio Operations and Compliance team, a collaborative group focused on delivering high-impact solutions across the business As a project manager, you will support the orchestration and management of a centralized portfolio aligned to key business initiatives.
This role requires both strategic insight and operational execution. Your work will span areas such as strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, go-to-market execution, compliance, and business process optimization. You will oversee interconnected efforts, balancing internal goals with external obligations, while managing risks, resources, and dependencies.
Success in this position requires strong cross-functional collaboration, a structured approach to complex problem-solving, and the ability to foster alignment across diverse teams. You’ll be a key change agent—bringing clarity, efficiency, and focus to ensure all initiatives and projects are executed effectively.
What you will do as a Project Manager:
+ Manage multiple concurrent projects that may not follow established processes, from planning through execution, ensuring alignment with business goals and ROI.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define scope, timelines, budgets, and success metrics.
+ Create and maintain project artifacts—including timelines, milestones, trackers, and RAIDQ logs—to monitor progress, identify risks, and drive successful, on-time, and on-budget delivery.
+ Communicate clearly and consistently through status updates, executive summaries, and meetings with stakeholders and vertical teams.
+ Manage escalations either within the team or to executive sponsors for timely resolution.
+ Identify opportunities to integrate AI and automation into business processes to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and increase visibility.
+ Support and continue to evolve the Portfolio Operations standard. This includes greater connectivity to other teams, business leaders, governance leaders to support these critical initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Prior experience with managing large-scale programs or projects across cross-functional teams.
+ Strong knowledge of project management principles and methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid), including scope, schedule, risk, cost, and stakeholder management.
+ Proven ability to assess initiative health, identify risks, and use data and reporting to drive informed decision-making.
+ Strong leadership presence with excellent collaboration, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
+ Demonstrated sense of ownership, urgency, and sound judgment in managing multiple priorities.
+ Thoughtful listener and decisive problem-solver who values diverse perspectives and builds alignment.
+ Professional, clear, and concise written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Characteristics:
+ Bachelor’s degree with relevant program or project management work experience.
+ Proficient documentation skills related to business analysis and requirements gathering.
+ Experience applying program management best practices, including performance tracking, issue resolution, and executive reporting.
+ Familiarity with change management principles to support organizational transitions.
+ Ability to understand issues from multiple perspectives and translate complex concepts across technical and non-technical audiences.
+ Skilled in cross-functional collaboration and aligning initiatives with business goals.
Additional Notes:
This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
