Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Over the past twenty years, Fandango has built a network of direct-to-consumer digital brands, where 50 million+ fans unite to celebrate their love for movies, TV and streaming. The Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships will manage the partnerships business for this critical, ever-evolving business unit within NBC Sports Next and Fandango. In collaboration with the SVP, Marketing and Partnerships, this role will pitch, negotiate, and lead day-to-day execution for key multi-divisional, multi-faceted partnerships for Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes and Fandango at Home that serve to drive meaningful revenue and strategic value for the business as a key driver in future company growth across all major categories.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
+ Develop, maintain and foster relationships with new and existing brands across all major consumer-facing brand categories to pitch, negotiate, and lead execute innovative partnerships for Fandango, Fandango at Home, and Rotten Tomatoes, along with periodic support for NBC Sports Next opportunities as they arise.
+ Renew and renegotiate renewals for key strategic partnerships deals as they arise.
+ Acts as a key “player coach” who will stay deeply involved in the execution process in addition to the business development/deal negotiation process while managing a team of direct reports to ensure all partnership aspects from end-to-end run smoothly.
+ In collaboration with the SVP, Marketing and Strategic Partnerships, build an achievable strategy for Fandango’s future Strategic Partnerships and Partnership Marketing deals that relates back to both Fandango’s broader strategy, that of existing deals, and potential future deals. This includes leading the creative ideation process cross-functionally for what will be included in key partnerships deals to help guide internal teams toward what these partnerships can include.
+ Pitch, negotiate and execute extensive, multi-functional, cross-divisional strategic partnership deals and lighter touch partner marketing deals to drive Fandango’s business objectives with best-in-class consumer brands.
+ Manages Partner Marketing deal negotiations and execution that will be supported by the Partner Marketing team.
+ Provide team collaboration and support for the Director of Technology and Affiliate Partnerships as needed and work closely with the Director to ensure that any affiliate/API integration pieces of broader Strategic Partnerships deals are incorporated in an efficient, timely manner for deal success.
+ Bachelor’s degree in business administration, entertainment, brand management, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
+ Minimum of 8+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, product partnerships/marketing, creative, or related roles within the entertainment, media, e-commerce, and/or technology industry that sit at the intersection of technology and partnerships. Experience should include a mix of partnerships deals in the technology space and with consumer (Fortune 500, etc.) brands.
+ Proven track record for successfully identifying, negotiating and executing strategic partnerships across all major consumer-facing categories that bring together multiple internal and external company divisions required.
+ Deep experience and expertise navigating extremely matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders and approvers involved in the partnerships deal and execution process.
+ Experience managing partnerships execution and creative, including marketing/digital marketing.
+ Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment across the business development and execution process.
+ Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze market trends, evaluate partnership opportunities, and make data-driven recommendations.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
+ Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
+ Prior experience in leading, developing, and managing direct reports and/or teams is a plus
+ Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and goal achievement and a team-focused “better together” approach essential. This role will require a level of individual contributor work.
+ Experience with project management systems (Asana, Jira), Microsoft Office suite (especially Power Point), Keynote, and tracking software’s is a plus.
+ Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
+ Flexibility to travel and works nights/weekends as needed.

Salary range: $180,000 - $220,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible).
