Collins Aerospace has an exciting opportunity for an **Electrical Components Engineer** . We’re looking for an experienced professional, like you, to accept a high level of responsibility within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This position will sit at our **Aguadilla, PR** location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.
This role is categorized as **hybrid** , with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.
What YOU will do:
+ Troubleshoot, analyze, implement design improvements, and craft change orders.
+ Work with internal customers to define production issue & satisfy procurement activities
+ Work with Technical Leads to understand customer and contractual requirements.
+ Review hardware against drawing specifications and determine if components meet requirements.
+ Lead qualification tests, analyze results and write reports.
+ Support and resolve field issues.
+ Support Parts Standardization and technology insertion.
+ Create component verification data packages.
+ Component standardization and obsolescence management in support of program reviews.

Qualifications you must have:
+ Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
+ Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
+ U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
+ Experience with the development of component data/drawings and the determination of part applications to meet program objectives and requirements
+ Experience with BOM (Bill of Material) development and management for developmental and production programs.
+ Experience or familiarity with electronics manufacturing processes and test equipment
+ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and hierarchy definition
+ Knowledge of component failure modes by commodity
+ Knowledge component qualification methodologies
+ Knowledge of Component MIL drawings, standards and test specifications.
+ Knowledge of component selection, screening, qualification, and derating.
+ Knowledge of circuit card and PWB manufacturing processes.
