Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced engineering leader responsible for the execution of an ACAT 1 program. The Program Area Chief Engineer (PACE) will lead the L1 Integrative Project Team (IPT). In this role you will collaborate across program leadership functions including program management, business development, finance, and engineering line management. The PACE will provide technical direction to the program and ensure engineering execution across the IPTs to meet and/or exceed cost, schedule, and technical requirements. In this role you will be the primary technical point of contact with senior customer counterparts, internal senior program management and engineering leadership.
What You Will Do
+ Ensure technical integrity and engineering execution across the IPT and other functions to meet and/or exceed cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
+ Responsible for the oversite and program leadership of multiple Program Chiefs and/or Project Engineers
+ Coordinates with engineering managers, project engineers, and IPT leads to ensure programs are staffed in accordance with agreed upon program plans
+ Support the capture of new business and influence technical and product line roadmaps, ensuring they are reflected in program planning and execution.
+ Coaches and mentors as a subject matter expert in the development process and project management
+ Proactively manages emerging issues and develops future opportunities.
+ Builds strong teams to identify, recruit, retain, and develop engineering talent & performs employee development planning, performance reviews and salary planning.
+ Creates and leverages networks within the broader engineering organizations, across adjacent functions and business units, and with customers to achieve results
+ Manages long term staffing forecast and plan.
Qualifications You Must Have
+ Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience **or** an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience **or** in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience
+ The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
+ U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
+ Able to travel up to 25% of the time depending on the program phase (typically 10% or less)
Qualifications We Prefer
+ Leadership role on a medium (300M+) or large (1B+) Program.
+ Led teams of over 80 People.
+ Experience in large organizational standup, complex weapons systems integration and program execution.
+ Prior Cost Account Manager experience
+ Experience navigating competing priorities.
+ Experience managing and mitigating large, complex risks.
+ Experience leading projects and teams within a highly matrixed organization
+ Strong design integration skills
+ Understanding of aerospace engineering design and analysis review/release process.
+ Understanding of the configuration management process
+ Strong Project management skills using MS Office/MS Project/EVMS

**Onsite:** Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
