Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Floor Care Tech
As a Floor Care Tech at MercyOne, you will under direct supervision, performs a variety of major and routine floor care and cleaning of interior and exterior of the hospital complex.
+ Washes windows, walls, ceilings, light fixtures, cleans all horizontal and vertical surfaces.
+ Analyzes floor conditions, determines proper cleaning method to ensure proper appearance.
+ Operates automatic scrubber, burnisher, vacuum, and carpet cleaning machine.
+ Strips and waxes any floor.
+ Dry and wet mop all patient floors.
+ Coordinates all environmental services activity with the unit or department involved to minimize problems and ensure safety.
+ Performs special isolation cleaning according to established procedures as required.
+ Records what areas have been stripped, shower scrubbed or shampooed in the appropriate record books.
+ Polices all first impression areas as necessary to maintain the areas in a clean and tidy condition throughout the day and night.
+ Replenishes supplies where needed, maintains cleanliness of all equipment and storage areas.
+ Reports the need for repair of equipment, furniture, building, and fixtures to appropriate person.
+ Assists in the cleaning of emergency spills, floods, etc., as required.
Schedule:
+ 5:00 pm – 1:30 am. Weekend and holiday rotation.
General Requirements:
+ Previous janitorial and cleaning experience preferred.
+ Floor machine operation experience preferred.
+ Is able to communicate effectively with all members of the health care team.
+ Is able to perform a variety of duties characterized by frequent change.
+ Must have a general working knowledge of computers and department specific software (i.e. HealthStream, internet, etc.)
Education:
+ High school graduate/GED preferred but not required.
