Job Description:

Highland Hospital is seeking an evenings Patient Transporter Group Leader. Hours are Sunday from 2pm-10:30pm and Monday-Wednesday from 4pm-12:30pm.

Essential Job Duties Include:

+ Routine supervision of Transport staff ensuring quality and accuracy of their work is maintained. Enforce system and departmental policies and procedures, making disciplinary recommendations, assuring annual mandatory and Employee Health compliance

+ Dispatch patient transport requests in Epic, including loading staff schedules, assigning meal breaks and assuring patient flow based on established priority levels.

+ Oversee scheduling of staff and filling open shifts when necessary and at the request of leadership.

+ Acts as departmental representative in absence of Manager or Supervisor.

+ With direction from the Manager and Director, train and develop employee performance.

+ Transport patients via wheelchairs, stretcher or as an escort in cases where the patient is ambulatory, to and from clinical, ancillary and support department areas while observing all safety regulations. Assist clinical personnel in transferring patients to and/or from beds or chairs to and/or from wheelchair or stretcher. Collect specimens, cultures, charts, orders, mail, supplies, requisitions and other items as directed and deliver items to appropriate destination. Maintain accurate log of all transports.

Salary Range:

$19.43 - $23.41 an hour

_The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._

Job Requirements:

Education: High School diploma or GED; or equivalent experience required.

Experience: 6 months required

License/Certification Required: Must attend Ancillary Preceptor Course

Skills: Able to understand oral and written instructions for equipment operation.
