The Content Producer (CP), President’s Office position exists to create, develop, and execute social media and other content (video, web content, social media, YouTube, etc.,) for Focus on the Family’s President & CEO for his corporate presence.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
+ Works directly with the President to conceive, research, create, optimize, and post content on social media and other pieces for traditional and new media as assigned.
Content planning:
+ Becomes and remains familiar with President’s current social media profile, as well as books he has authored, and creates short form posts on current social media platforms
+ Researches issues and current events for President’s comment
+ Coordinates potential posts with President so that his brand is present, and readers know that posts came from him
+ Reads and digests content from all of President’s published works: books, articles, etc., and creates social media posts from that content
+ Monitors Focus activities and content in all of the 5 overarching areas: Evangelism, Marriage, Parenting, Advocacy for Children, and Engaging the Culture and strategies with the President to maximize what he communicates publicly on all that Focus is doing
+ Attends campus meetings in which President speaks, including radio broadcasts and podcast recordings
+ Researches and stays abreast of current trends in the digital content space as applicable to the ministry brand
+ Interviews, as needed, internal and external experts on specified content area
+ Researches keywords, trending topics and competition for search engine optimization (SEO)
+ Researches personalities, authors, broadcast guests, influencers, and relates President’s content for various channels
+ Monitors, understands, and utilizes qualitative and quantitative data to enhance engagement outcomes.
+ Prioritizes data and finds creative solutions to improve engagement outcomes and grow brand
Promoting Content:
+ Writes, films, and posts short copy daily, in conjunction with the President
+ Coordinates with Chief of Staff on behalf of President
+ Works with President to record videos for short-format online use Edits videos for posting
+ Posts statements, social posts, and videos on President’s social media channels as well as works with other staff for posting on other Focus platforms
+ Finds or creates items to supplement written and video content:
+ Images
+ Infographics
+ Quotes
+ Links
+ Creates reels and other video content
+ Maintains good working relationships with media team, marketing department, and other Content Producers, utilizes marketing data to enhance engagement efforts and grow brand.
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
+ Participates in various meetings to identify relevant and timely communications topics
+ Researches and drafts general ideas and other communication pieces
+ Maintains files to document information and quotes used in President’s posts
+ Fact checks all content
+ Analyzes successes and failures of posts, evaluating trends
+ Seeks training to build new skills
+ Goes through the cycle of pre-planning, production, and post-production
+ Performs other duties, including but not limited to duties as assigned, some of which may include the development and creation of a variety of copyrightable works (e.g., print, photography, film, voice work, music, visual arts, etc.) for distribution in any and all media and formats (such as television, radio, internet, wireless, DVD, satellite and digital) on a world-wide basis, all of which shall be for the benefit of Focus on the Family

This role is considered a Spokesperson for Focus on the Family and should represent Focus’ position and tone at all times

Knowledge/Experience:
+ Videography skills such as composition of scenes and subjects, familiarity with film audio and understanding lighting production process among other things
+ Familiarity with social platforms and producing for social platforms
+ General content management system (CMS) experience; knowledgeable in website content best practices and content management frameworks; WordPress and SiteCore proficiency helpful
+ Working knowledge of Focus on the Family’s mission, values, and objectives
+ Computer knowledge in a variety of Microsoft Office Tools (required: Word, Excel, Adobe, and PowerPoint)
+ Experience with Adobe Premier helpful
+ Experience with an image management system (Canva, etc.) or equivalent helpful
+ Familiar with AP style
+ Basic HTML knowledge beneficial
+ Helpful: Bachelor’s degree Digital Communication, Film and Production, Communications, English, or Journalism (or related field)

Salary Range: $58,236 to $67,077
