Description
ARS is looking for a highly skilled engineering professional responsible for developing and implementing effective Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) processes for DoD/Air Force weapon systems. This expert-level position focuses on ensuring weapon systems meet user requirements for reliability, availability, and maintainability throughout the entire lifecycle. The senior engineer will provide technical leadership, oversee junior and journeyman personnel, and apply advanced knowledge of R&M principles to support program milestones and objectives.

Responsibilities include:
+ Develop and implement effective Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) processes that align with user requirements
+ Ensure R&M processes are consistent with program acquisition, sustainment, and disposal strategies
+ Incorporate R&M requirements into the Integrated Master Plan/Integrated Master Schedule (IMP/IMS)
+ Review and analyze the Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) and reliability standard reports
+ Work with G081 database to verify field failure reporting and assist with handling Deficiency Reports (DRs)
+ Review system design baselines for architecture and interoperability requirements
+ Analyze OEM technical proposals and modifications for design feasibility and system compatibility
+ Conduct performance effectiveness, cost effectiveness, and life-cycle cost assessments
+ Perform producibility, maintainability, supportability, and reliability trade-off studies
+ Assess technical and schedule risks for weapon system programs
+ Support system requirements reviews, design reviews, and technical interchange meetings
+ Evaluate ECPs, CCPs, and other engineering change documents for R&M impacts
+ Assist in developing technical data and inputs for milestone approvals
+ Support value stream mapping activities and Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st Century (AFSO21)
+ Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:
+ Must be a US citizen
+ Active Secret security clearance
+ Advanced degree (Master's) in Engineering (Systems, Reliability, Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field) and twelve (12) years of experience in R&M engineering, with five (5) years in DoD programs OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering and fifteen (15) years of experience in R&M engineering, with five (5) years in DoD programs
+ Active Secret security clearance (required)
+ Advanced knowledge of reliability engineering principles, methodologies, and analysis techniques
+ Comprehensive understanding of DoD acquisition processes and systems engineering standards
+ Expert-level experience with FRACAS implementation and management
+ Demonstrated ability to lead R&M activities and mentor junior personnel
+ Extensive familiarity with G081 maintenance information systems and data analysis
+ Proven experience with reliability prediction, reliability growth testing, and failure mode analysis
+ Advanced knowledge of maintainability design criteria and demonstration testing
+ Comprehensive understanding of Life Cycle Systems Engineering (LCSE) processes
+ Expert-level experience with R&M incorporation into IMP/IMS development
+ Demonstrated leadership in analyzing system designs for R&M improvements
+ Extensive experience conducting and directing trade studies and technical assessments
